چکیده
A psychological theory is a set of statements that satisfies five philosophical criteria. The first criterion is that the proposed explanation can be used to deduce the behavioural phenomena to be explained. For example, suppose someone asks, ‘Why is bread good to eat?’ We use operational definitions of ‘bread’ and ‘good to eat’ in order to link these concepts to the world of observations. Define a substance as ‘good to eat’ if more than 75 per cent of 1-year-old rats given access to water and that substance under standard lab conditions survive on this diet for six months. Define ‘bread’ as what comes from the market in a package marked ‘Weber’s bread’. The following argument illustrates deduction:

The purpose of this study is to design and explain the impact pattern of online advertising on actual purchasing (Case Study: Atieh Saba Holding). The study is qualitative based on the objective and data collection process. The population of the study were all marketing and sales experts at Atieh Saba Holding, and among these experts, 10 were selected as the sample. In this study, data were col...
متن کاملA Robust Feedforward Active Noise Control System with a Variable Step-Size FxLMS Algorithm: Designing a New Online Secondary Path Modelling Method
Several approaches have been introduced in literature for active noise control (ANC)systems. Since Filtered-x-Least Mean Square (FxLMS) algorithm appears to be the best choice as acontroller filter. Researchers tend to improve performance of ANC systems by enhancing andmodifying this algorithm. This paper proposes a new version of FxLMS algorithm. In many ANCapplications an online secondary pat...
متن کاملDesigning collaborative learning model in online learning environments
Introduction: Most online learning environments are challenging for the design of collaborative learning activities to achieve high-level learning skills. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to design and validate a model for collaborative learning in online learning environments. Methods: The research method used in this study was a mixed method, including qualitative content analysis and...
متن کاملTurkServer: Enabling Synchronous and Longitudinal Online Experiments
With the proliferation of online labor markets and other social computing platforms, online experiments have become a low-cost and scalable way to empirically test hypotheses and mechanisms in both human computation and social science. Yet, despite the potential in designing more powerful and expressive online experiments using multiple subjects, researchers still face many technical and logist...
متن کاملDesigning Adaptive Engagement Approaches for Audience-bounded Online Communities
Audience-bounded online communities require innovative user engagement techniques. Without special efforts focusing on engagement, the contribution volume will likely to be insufficient to maintain a sustainable community-driven system. This paper presents an adaptive approach for user engagement that aims to apply alternative engagement strategies to users with different behavior in the online...
متن کاملThe Planning and Analysis of Industrial Selection and Screening Experiments
The purpose of this article is to explain methodology for designing and analyzing industrial experiments when selection and screening, rather than hypothesis testing, is the goal. In rough terms, we say the goal is one of selection and/or screening when the scientific objective is to find the “best” treatment. Empirical investigation, in the form of physical experiments, has been a key tool in ...
